Since 1981, the Valdez Senior Center has offered a range of services and programs. The center is committed to serving the community, bringing generations together, and being a trusted resource for Valdez.
Our Mission is to serve as community support for the seniors of Valdez, while enhancing their quality of life through care and services.
The Valdez Senior Center has 15 apartment units for independent living seniors. Each unit is a one bedroom, one bathroom apartment with a full kitchen and living room. The center has two laundry facilities on site for residents.
For visitors, VSC has our dining room which allows for our community to connect for congregate lunches, crafting, gaming, exercise, activities and more!

Services are available for those that are eligible and meet the requirements for the State of Alaska’s Consumer-directed Personal Care Services Program. Services will be provided in your home by a Personal Care Assistant with the Valdez Senior Center, Inc.

Services include help with:
• Daily Activities. (Bathing, eating, oral hygiene, light cooking, etc.)
• Light housekeeping duties.
• Ambulatory help. (Assistance to/from bed, wheelchair, vehicle, etc.)

• Social Security Assistance.
• Medicaid Assistance.
• Medical Equipment Loans.
Connections to Care, Inc.

The Valdez Senior Center has an amazing partnership with Connections to Care. Connections to Care, Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting and aiding members of our community in their times of need, no matter the walk of life. An organization established of volunteers to help the community during times of illness and/or medical needs.

Equipment Loan Program
Some people need expensive equipment that health insurance may not fully cover, or that they may only use for a short period of time. Connections To Care, Inc. has a loan closet that provides adaptive equipment to individuals to increase their safety and independence in their homes and the community. This program allows for you to borrow our equipment free of charge.
